OBJECTIVE

Guide Woogly, Weegly, and Whaagly, the last of the race of the word bugs called Wordtrotters, to catch runaway alphabet bugs or Letterbugs that form the Anti-Spell, a secret magical game word that will save their world from the evil bug witch Grimmar.

Beat the clock and catch the correct game word in a bughood (game stage) to advance to the next and continue playing until you find the Anti-Spell.

LET THERE BE LIGHT

Catching a non-spell game word or bugword will only light up a game stage or bughood, an alphabet-shaped city of the bug world Wordth, plunged into darkness by Grimmar’s spell.

There are 26 bughoods (Bughood A to Bughood Z) that represent 26 different game stages.

Each stage begins with a dark environment. Catching Letterbugs in the correct sequence will gradually reveal the bughood’s hidden color.

If you fail to find the Anti-Spell until the last stage, the whole world reverts to its shadowy environment.

You may continue your quest by starting at the darkened A Bughood all over again and hope that this time around you’ll find the Anti-Spell.

FIND THE WORD, SAVE THE WORLD

If you find the Anti-Spell, Grimmar will be destroyed and the full color of the world will be permanently restored. You win!

HOW TO PLAY
  1. Choose your character. The Non-Story Mode allows you to choose one playable character for the entire game. In the Story Mode, you get to play a different character per stage.

  2. Get a Clue. Know your mission. Each stage has a different bugword to be caught and for the Story Mode, a mission to be accomplished.

A game prompt featuring Def, the Forgetful Wizard, will give you the following information:

    • BUGWORD CLUE
A short description of the game word.

    • STORY MODE MISSION
The task that must be completed for the particular stage.

  3. Guide your Wordtrotter. Wordtrotters can trot horizontally, vertically, and even upside down all over the place.

Point and click on the ground or space where you want your Wordtrotter to go.

  4. Catch a Letterbug. Point and click on a Letterbug to make your Wordtrotter catch it and earn 1,000 points.

Your Wordtrotter can only catch Letterbugs in the correct spelling sequence of the game word. Once caught, the Letterbug will follow your Wordtrotter wherever it goes.

An identical Letterbug will replace each alphabet bug that you catch.

  5. Feed on Bugstuff. Your Wordtrotter will automatically consume the bugstuff clusters as he/she trots on top of the letter-shaped living hills, the sleepy Alphabet Golems.

Bugstuff clusters conceal any of the following:
    Customize!
    • Bonus points
      2,000 to 5,000 points

    • Supertrotter
Power up item that grants Wordtrotters super speed for 10 seconds.

    • Magnetizer
Power up item that grants Wordtrotters the one-time ability to catch Letterbugs from a distance. Just point and click on a Letterbug to make it come to your Wordtrotter in an instant.

    • Vocabug
Dictionary bug that will give Wordtrotters game word clues.

    • Def, the Forgetful Wizard
A powerful wizard that will grant both helpful and damaging items.

    • Bugtrap
The portal that brings forth the Buggers.

Tip: If you don’t want to risk getting the wrong stuff, steer your Wordtrotter away from bugstuff clusters.

  6. Ask a Vocabug. If you need more game word clues, direct your Wordtrotter to consume the bugstuff cluster that you think might be hiding a Vocabug.

  7. Race against Buggers. Grimmar’s Buggers are built for two things: to catch and gulp down Letterbugs in the correct sequence of the bugword and to devour your Wordtrotter. An identical Letterbug will replace each alphabet bug that a Bugger eats.

If the Bugger consumes the entire bugword, it transforms into a monstrous Spideybug and gobbles up your Wordtrotter. You lose and the game starts on the same round again.

  8. Play against Time. The maximum playing time per stage is three minutes. If you don’t catch the bugword and/or accomplish your mission within the playing time, you will lose and start on the same round again.

  9. Compete against Online Players.  Match your skills against other online players at www.wordtrotter.com.

There will be an automatic score upload to see how you’re doing against other players.

Oh, don’t forget to join the Wordtrotter Facebook community and make friends, though.

  10. Check your Player Bar. Always check your game status in the Player Bar.

The Player Bar will display your player identification, the character you are playing, bugword clues, mission, letters of the game word that you caught, playing time, and top score.

  11. Use Game Items. Make your Wordtrotter consume the bugstuff cluster that you think might summon Def, the Forgetful Wizard.

If he shows up, he will give you the Orb of Worda, the glowing orb with a question mark that will either help you win or make your game more difficult.

Point and click on the Orb of Worda to activate its power. You will get any of the following items:
    Customize!
    • Sir Supertrotter
Three times the speed of a Supertrotter.

    • Mother Magnetizer
The power to magnetize three Letterbugs in a stage.

    • Petrifier
A dud! Your Wordtrotter will stand on its head and will be immobile for six seconds.

    • Looooser
Another fiasco! The Letterbugs will lose their alphabet markings for six seconds.

    • Silly Summoner
The biggest magical disaster! It summons a Bugger.

  12. Level up.  If you catch the bugword and/or accomplish your mission, you will move up to the next stage, closer and closer to the Anti-Spell.

Hot Tip:  Try not to become a Spideybug’s lunch!

  13. Find the Anti-Spell and Win the Game. When you get to Grimmar’s lair, the Bughood Z, Def the Forgetful Wizard will give you the last Orb of Worda that will help you find the Anti-Spell-if he remembers the right magic spell.

If you use the wrong item, Grimmar will eat your Wordtrotter alive.

If you get it right, you will destroy Grimmar and her minions with just one word, save the world, and win the game.
